AT Digital design & manufacture concepts
User interface wireframing
User interface and wireframe mock ups of the reimagined co-design workflow.
Date
Sept. 2023
Supported by
Supported by PDR's Industrial and User Interface Design team who created high fidelity renders of the concepts at key points to illustrate the process in greater detail.
Funder
Research funded by the Tidal N+ (funded through the EPSRC)
In this phase, we developed a service blueprint and digital prototype that utilises Digital Design and Manufacturing (DDM) systems to deliver the service blueprint, a video that uses the prototype to illustrate how a DDM-enabled service could work and a policy action document identifying how the service could be expanded across Wales and the UK.
Miro was used for basic illustration of the process. Basic interactive function was added to guide the team through the process.
The PDR design team added high fidelity sections that animated the process of making changes to the 3D CAD by changing sliders on a computer screen. They also produced renders that illustrated how the products could be presented much more like products purchased through any homeware shop. Industrial design practice was used to make the concept designs easier to produce using 3D printing. The final idea could be fabricated without the need for supports, using low-cost PLA material on almost any fused filament fabrication/fused deposition modelling 3D printer.
